Hi, has any one experienced iPhone battery drain since joining EE ?
I was transferred over from Plusnet just over a month ago and have noticed the battery on my iPhone 6s does not last half as long as it use to, checked the battery use and condition and all looks normal with a battery condition of 90%. My wife has the same phone and has experienced the same issue. The battery drain appears to be worse over night when not in use , and no app’s running in the background.
Any ideas much appreciated

Hi Leanne
Okay, I'll try that, though EE "Coverage Checker" claims "You'll get excellent coverage indoors and outdoors on your iPhone" - this is clearly not true 😞
I'll try switching on WiFi calling though, and report back.
Thanks for your help.

Apologies, my mistake I read your reply as problems have been reported for your area @Danng8
You can report the problems using the network checker and the team will get this looked into for you and keep you updated.
Please let me know how you get on.
Leanne.

Hi Leanne
Okay here is an update:
I reported the poor signal strength to EE using the Covergae Checker web page - no reponse yet.
I decided it might be time to replace my iphone battery, so had it done at a proper Apple dealer and had a new one fitted.
Amazingly, the battery still drained very quickly!
Decided to try a Pay as You Go GiffGaff (O2) SIM, and the result was surprising! With no changes at all to the phone, just changing the SIM had made a huge difference. The phone was last charged on Saturday, and it still has 37% charge today (Monday). The phone still shows only 1 or 2 bars on the mobile signal even with this GiffGaff SIM, but no battery drain.
Could this be a faulty SIM from EE? I do not want to move to GiffGaff, as I get a better deal with EE, but unless it can be fixed, I guess I'll have to move.
What is best to do to fix this?
Many thanks.
Dan

Hi @Danng8
Thanks for the update and for coming back to me.
If you get in touch with our mobile care team on 150 from the EE SIM, the team will run through some troubleshooting and let you know what is needed.
Leanne 🙂

Hi Danng8,
Can you please post what the care team tell you as myself and the wifes phone still has the same issue as yours, i was reluctant to have a new battery installed as the battery health is still saying 89% so there should not be an issue. Just one other thing, again, the same as you the signal strength is no where near what EE are saying it shpuld be, in and around the house i am getting 2 bars max majority of the time very disapointing 😠

I have received a message back from the coverage team after I reportied the poor network signal, and they seem to be implying there is a problem in my area that they are trying to fix, though not specifically said as much. I will update when I have more news.

I called EE technical support on 150 (47 minutes on the call), and they are sending out a new SIM card for me to try.

Let us know how you get on after receiving the replacement SIM @Danng8

Well done Danng8,
It took me at least 8 phone calls and over 3hrs on the phone just to get my SIM card activated buts that’s another story!! . Let me know if that solves the issue, however, as both my and wife’s phone has the exact same issue as you after changing over from Plusnet I will be amazed if that solves it.
if it does I will be straight onto EE to replace both our SIM cards

While you’re waiting, try a pay as you go SIM from a different network to see if it works for you. You can try it for £6, but remember to switch off auto-renew! I tried GiffGaff which uses O2.
