Hi all, is anyone successfully using a Watch 7 or Ultra on LTE successfully, and able to make calls from the watch?
(or anyone else having issues?)
I have a Galaxy Watch Ultra, have activated a paired £7/Month eSim for the watch but it does not work properly.
Plan shows as active, Watch shows as connected, and when disconnected from the phone, watch data works - I can browse the internet, update apps, use WhatsApp etc. What doesn't work is Calling - neither incoming or outgoing. If I try to make an outgoing call, it attempts it, then ends the call within 2 seconds before it rings. Incoming calls aren't routed to the watch.
I've called EE, and they have re-applied the eSim and also got me to remove the plan from my watch and put a new one on - nothing has worked, and I think they are a bit stuck!
On the Samsung community there are several other people with the same issue - all on EE, and all with a Watch 7 or Ultra. One person reported dealing with EE 3rd line, and overnight it started working - the kicker being when they spoke to their handler the following day they didn't know what had fixed it!
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

On one of the 02 posts, they say to make sure your galaxy watch ultra is showing up on your phone under, settings: connection devices: Call & text on other devices: Call on other devices. But my watch is not on the device list.....?

Still having the issue, EE wont give any comp until it's sorted and i doubt they'll actually give it in the end.

Think I'm going to give up with this watch, Maybe look at the Pixel watch 3. I assume that doesn't have problems?

Sorry to bump this thread but has anyone had issues trying to connect 'mobile data plan' with a non samsung phone using a watch 7? https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00082502/
I have tied both
motorola razr 50 ultra running android 14 and a google pixel 7a running android 15 both give an error saying
''EE doesn't offer mobile plans for your watch'' with a error code of -1
i have spoken to CS but they say is on my plan and actived and should pair with my number, Also opted into a family plan what gives the watch a new number rather then pairing with the same number as your mobile however i been told this can take 24 hours, the lady actived this for me around 8pm on the 29th.

Yes I originally had that issue you have to set up on a Samsung phone activate the esim then re-pair to Motorola etc absolute pain but after that you will then have this issue with the calls so good luck ee haven't got a clue biggest joke going
