I’m new to EE from sky and I’m trying to pair the EE app to my boxes to record from the app…it continuously says no box found?

@Jg1947 pairing the EE TV app to your TV Box only provides the ability to remotely manage recordings. It doesn't change the app's ability to watch channels - they're determined by the EE ID you log into the app with.
If you still want to pair, then:
You can connect the TV Box via ethernet or wifi, and the app should be able to discover it - but they must be on the same network. This means making sure your phone is connected to your home wifi connection, not the "EE Wifi" public network. If you're using Powerline adapters to provide the ethernet connection then also reboot them - in fact, I recommend you reboot everything at the same time (hub, powerline adapters at both ends, and TV Box).

Correct.
The only channels that can be watched are listed when you tap the Live tab in the app
