smart wifi sw403 always displaying orange

All working fine and as expected until recently. Now the SW403 stays orange all of the time. I have done the usual troubleshooting including a factory reset and  pairing directly with cables but the problem still exists.  From the research that I have done is seems as if the unit is "gone". Looking for a replacement unit.

Kind of a convulted way to get support.  I call the line and they state over an hour wait ... they seem to need a mobile phone number ... i don't use a UK mobile phone.  They seem to want one to download their app to contact customer support. That doesn't work for me. I just want/need/use broadband for internet service only. I can't seem to find a way to initiate a chat strictly via the web.... frustrating.

@jgmcbride They do say calling earlier in the morning get's a better and quicker connection time, so tomorrow 8am onwards and see how it goes. Also the link from the EE Expert is below.

Unfortunately EE has made a smartphone running their app a requirement for admin of some router features, in particular Access Control. Also for reporting issues by texting HELP to 66033.

i ended up calling 0330 123 1105 and did get through to someone after only a short wait. I described that that issue was with me extender .. she apparently contacted someone in broadband. I guess that they ran some tests and stated that my broadband was working fine ... i told her this at the start. After a good 5 minute hold she got back on the line and finally realized that I was speaking about the extender. She is to send me a replacement and I will have it in a few days. Very frustrating experience.  Let's see if it arrives.

@jgmcbride None of this guessing it may or may not arrive, have a look on your account, all the details about the replacement, and when shipped the tracking etc should be there, may be tomorrow before it does show up in your account info though.
