No 4k on the Now App

Hi.

I've just installed my Apple Tv 4k, but the Now app isn't offering me any 4k/uhd playback - just HD. I am paying for the HD and 4K boost in my package. My TV is a Samsung Q80T with HDMI 2.1 - it can handle 4k everything on the Fire TV Stick 4K.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Paula 

You’re not doing anything wrong. Don’t know what package you’ve got but EETV can only support Now’s HD Boost for now. It can’t accommodate Now 4K Boost. 

Have another look at your TV package. What are you paying for it? Did you have Now before with Boost, or have you got it for the first time via EETV now? I vaguely remember seeing something about sport w 4k, but being totally disinterested I paid it no attention 🤦🏼‍♂️

Hi. I'm new to EE TV, and I've never had Now TV before. I have the Cinema and Entertainment packages, and a boost was available saying boost to HD and 4k. I think it's an extra £6 a month.

When i use the Now app on my firestick it says to view in UHD use your EE box - quite frustrating, and a bit misleading to have 4k written everywhere as i was signing up, if the Now app can't do it.

I wonder whether you were looking at Now's website direct, or had picked up on that Sports reference I mentioned earlier? They *do* offer Boost in both HD and 4K flavours to direct subscribers, but if you look via the upgrade options within EE TV, you'll see the only upgrade available for Now *on* EE is HD Boost.

Just to confuse us all further, the EE TV box itself does support 4K from other content supplying it and that you subscribe to. . Just not on the Now app. An example. I  subscribe to Apple TV+. I can play their 4K stuff via the Apple TV box, the TV itself, or the EE TV box.  

Does that make sense? Apologies if I've confused you further. But I can say for definite, EE TV does not support Now 4K Boost.

Hi. Below you can see some of the extras i'm paying for. This is on the EE website, and I ordered my package on the EE website. I believe you that 4k isn't suppoerted, but i was lead to believe I would receive 4k streaming.
