I have posted on here about this issue and looking at other posts others have same problem. I don't know how EE can push a subscription saying you will get an enhanced experience by PAYING EXTRA when it DOES NOT WORK.
I complained to ee and they said I cannot leave my present package [BB/TV]. It is a complete con. Thankfully I was due to change my mobile to ee next month but won't be bothering now. I am going to make a formal complaint and take this matter further. As other have said, NO ATMOS only 5.1dd NO ATMOS PICTURE only 4k. My tv/Denon amp/and Philips tv/ Panasonic Blu Ray all work with Netflix as it should do. It does do Netflix HDR and that is it, no ATMOS/VISION via ee pro box.
I have cancelled my subscription as it is a pain to have to come out of ee pro box turn off, switch to either tv or blu ray player switch amp over. My Wife can't do all this and why should she. I find it stressful myself. I would rather go without it hence my cancellation. I have kindly been informed I can do nothing until my contract is up in 2026 Happy new year thank you.
And don't get me started on the aerial connection. I have had to stick the cable to the box with Gorilla tape. The fitting is very poor and was constantly losing connection. [new Aeriel / cable]. 18/1/25 11.45pm Blank screen nothing not even any apps. Had to turn off leave power off for several minutes turn back on, all ok. What a performance. And this is now our 3rd box over the past 3 years. 2 x bt pro 1 x ee pro. I can't use the other method of having it all online as pathetically you can only watch one record one. Of no use to me at all. The system is not fit for purpose.

Yes. I understand that. It enhances options for sound placement, hence the move from vanilla 5.1 to 7.1, 11.1 etc. What we both have now is simply a development of the Pro Logic system we started with in the 80’s.
I still contend the key addition is the height option. It adds a new dimension, and that’s the main feature motivating people who can run to it. IMO, it’s what most folks first think of with Atmos.
So we’re seeing 7.1.2 and more, with the .2 new channels being ceiling speakers firing down, or upward firing drivers bouncing off and back down.
My amp displays “Atmos” where the content supplies it, but asks me if I’ve got height speakers. I haven’t, so it places those sounds elsewhere.
Just my view, and of course, other opinions are available 😉

In all honesty, I’m not a huge fan of HDR, whatever the flavour. It encourages directors to film lots of stuff in semi darkness (I’m looking at you Silo) with a window or candle etc providing contrast. Cue “aren’t we clever”. Er, no.
I am a peasant.

“Modern TV shows can at times be poorly lit”
Really? I’m shocked.

Having listened to both I much prefer Atmos. Yes, I have the kit so why wouldn't I want the best sound and vision. If ee described the service as 4k spatial audio I would not have chosen the highest Netflix subscription package. 5.1 /7.1 Atmos is what I thought I was getting. Let's not forget we are only getting HDR NOT DOLBY VISION this is not just about the inferior sound but picture quality too. HDR flashes up when I go into Netflix via ee box. Dolby vision pops up when I go into Netflix via 1 Philips oled 809 tv and Panasonic 820 Blu ray player. I have spent a lot on my set up, My Denon amp confirms what I am seeing/hearing, so I want what I am paying for.
Thinking about it I bet ee won't pay the licensing fees associated with Dolby. So, they are pushing an inferior product onto their customers, of which many may not be aware of what they are missing. Thinking back a few Months I remember Taking out the same package when it was BT. I subscribed for ONE EVENING only due to the poor picture quality and of course inferior sound. I had a different TV then LG OLED. I foolishly thought It may be different on a new TV. I am not just doing this for me. If you are happy paying the extra money that is your decision / choice. Thanks for the input anyway.

See my post above. I am totally lost for words. So that should suit you. Yes, I have the equipment and yes, I want what I am being charged for.
The Philips OLED 809 IS CALIBRATED for Netflix Atmos/vision. My other LG OLED not sure if it is but it does support Atmos/vision. [NOT CALIBRATED] There is another chap on here saying the same thing as me. and probably many others. If you think I am getting any sort of a buzz out of this, you couldn't be further from the truth.
This service is cheaper than Sky but not by much. Now I haven't had Sky for many years but when we did have it I NEVER had problems like this. I have just had to spend £68 on a Freesat box so my Wife isn't sat watching a blank screen when the ee box next throws a hissy fit. She can't start going into other settings and swopping out HDMI source. No record/rewind/pause on this little box which I must say was a revelation setting it up and picture quality is up there with the best of them. It even has WIFI and picked up 174 channels 20 in HD, oh it is also DOLBY ATMOS capable! but no apps. I shouldn't have to spend money on another box for back up. By the way we live in an area with limited Freeview channels, but I still chose BT/ee as my preferred supplier.

Is it perhaps a Netflix problem? And not EE? could well be. But either way we should not be paying for a product that isn't being delivered in the way it should be. And I don't see why someone, yes me tell others about it. Agree nothing is perfect.
I have invested in my kit I am not getting what I am being charged for. I have asked to leave ee completely bb and tv They said no. I am stuck till 2026. I put my faith in ee and their products and pay my bills. I am so glad I didn't take out ee mobile as I have had it with ee now. That will be one less thing to complain about as there are many horror stories regarding ee signal being poor in an area they say is good. They are happy to take my money so I will be happy to post on other forums about their shoddy service.

Some good news! I don't know if ee have tweeked things, but my picture quality has improved considerably. Now TV is much improved I may even consider adding HD 5.1. I have always been happy with Freeview picture quality. I have never had any issues with Amazon Prime. HDR works as it should. And finally, Netflix. I dropped the Netflix ultra so now have just HD. Picture is ok.
Regarding the ee pro box. It has crashed twice! Perhaps someone else has had the issue I will explain what happens. Watching TV/Freeview the screen goes black and no sound. All apps work fine sound/picture. Back to TV again and black screen. Aerial showing 100% and around 85% so all good there.
I left it like that for a few hours just to see if it was Freeview at fault. Plug in turn on picture back as it should be. Very frustrating. As I have said I I prefer aerial connection as we can record several things whilst watching one. Has anyone had this problem? Many thanks for all the input on my previous problems.
