TV Mini boxes

I'm just transferring from Sky Q to EEtv - I have been offered 1 pro box and 1 mini box. Currently with Sky Q I have 1 main box and 3 mini boxes. Is there a limit to the amount of EEtv mini boxes I have? The call centre said they can only supply 1 mini box, but can use the Now TV app to watch sport/sky channels, which is fine but I don't have the EPG when just accessing the apps. What Is the best work around? Thanks

@Pedro1977  Potentially you could have a 2nd mini box (so 3 boxes in total) if you have sufficient broadband speed and are willing to pay the monthly subscription (i think it is £5 on some present offers,offers tend to change) for the second  minbox.

As @zulu17 has pointed out, the maximum is 3 boxes on any account, assuming you have enough bandwidth to deliver a service to all 3 at the same time and still have some headroom for normal activities such as web browsing, using YouTube etc.

What broadband speed do you have?

I assume you are also aware that unlike Sky Q, you cannot view recordings made on the main box on a multiroom box?

Side note, there is a now/next TV Guide in most versions of the app.

One other consideration given that EE call centre suggestion that you gave use the Now app is that Now do have limits on the number of concurrent streams. I suspect your TV package would have the NOW Boost included (not all do) which does raise limit,  Whether that would be sufficient for your household's needs is questionable .

Thanks @zulu17  & @Profile closed  - my broadband is currently 150mb - although have been offered 500mb for a good price so could upgrade if necessary.

@Pedro1977

Solid speeds, very jealous!

I can’t see a technical reason why you couldn’t have 3 boxes personally, but I obviously don’t work for EE.

You either need to reach out to EE again or, wait until services are all live and then see if you can add a further box.
