EETV apps freezing

Various apps, such as GB News, ITVX, Channel 5 all randomly freeze.

Think the EETV box shows apps via YouView.

i’ve rebooted TV box, router and all software and apps are up to date.

I’m on fibre 900 with EE router

anyone had the same issue and resolved?

cheers in advance

Hi Peter

using an issued EE Mini box as a second box, it happens almost everyday, i dont understand why this channel is only available as an app

Hi

not tried other apps so far its only G B news, i can watch GB news on main box as a normal channel without any issue.

Thanks @Angie0904, I'd definitely try some other apps to see if these encounter issues too.

Can you please check to make sure that your box is fully up to date?

I'd recommend trying a light reset on your box if you haven't already too.

Having received the replacement main box, the apps randomly freeze:

GB News (app on all the boxes, main one and the three EE minis)

ITVx froze last night, via one of the EE minis.

software in all boxes are up to date and so are all the apps.

its not my broadband as this is Fibre 900 FTTP.

no idea on why so I guess I’ll have to put up with it…?

usually freezing is related to code clashes between firmware and software…??

Hi PolyAnn

this is so damn annoying, as you say we are paying for these services and they should work! I get GB news on main box as a channel not app, but am baffled as to why i cant get this channel with mini box!  I was with Sky before and thinking of going if it continues , hope you get it resolved😊😊

Angie

we were with SkyQ until the trees at the back caused pixelation so we switched to Sky stream…. Same freezing issues though did this a lot more than EE.

I'm convinced its EE equipment along with firmware/software coding issues, which, unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about.

I have thought about Virgin cable tv…. Maybe that’s my next move as I’m currently axing for a service that I’m not getting….

hope you sort your issue soon too.

Hi PolyAnn

oh wow you really have been through the mills with them! I really hope you get this sorted out too and if means switching providers then let be it, as for me i am not sure ill be able to continue with same issue, so will probably switch eventually!
take care

GBNews is on channel 236, and this is not carried on the channels that EETV put out in IP Mode, only on those obtainable in Aerial Mode.

If you can get GBNews only as an app on the Box Mini, then the above explains that, and if you can get it as a channel on a Box Pro, then I can deduce that you are running that in Aerial Mode.

If you can only get GBNews as an app on a Box Pro, even when running in Aerial Mode, then you are probably on a Freeview Lite transmitter.

Hi

I’m not connected to an aerial hence, not using free view TV at all.

I’m only connected via my Fibre 900 FTTP line.

GB News, ITVx, Etc are apps within EETV “YouView”

hope that makes sense.

cheers

Paul

@PolyAnn

Unless you are not watching any TV channels between 1 and 300, you are watching Freeview.

It’s just the delivery method and the selection of channels that changes when you don’t have an aerial.
