Hi,
Is it possible to subscribe to EE tv without the broadband packages? We don't have a landline and will never have a decent one due to our rural location but use EE wireless internet which already streams netflix, amazon etc without any issues.
I'm looking to ditch sky tv and this seems to be a decent option.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

HI, could you sign up for the tv/bb deal, but just not use it?

I've been looking to get EE TV on my Apple TV, it'd be really nice to have however EE doesn't provide what I need from my broadband. This situation feels like it's purely just for lock-in and is highly anti-consumer.

Where to start?
You won’t get EETV, in any sort of complete way, on your Apple TV. The broadcasters and content providers demand that only specially licensed Apple TV boxes can be used for this, and these special boxes are only available from EETV.
Technically, EETV can only be supplied over EE or BT broadband. Frustrating if the only decent broadband near you is from somebody else, and not just for you, for EETV as well, as it means they can’t sell you a service they would like to.
But it is a restriction EETV have actually looked at, and there is no easy way round it.
But you should not imagine that EETV are anti-consumer; why would they cut off their nose just to spite their face?
Rather, they are as interested as you in overcoming the technical and commercial problems of providing the service more widely; they don’t want that you miss out on EETV any more than you do.
