I'm a recent EE customer and still within the 14day cooling off period, and I'm seriously thinking of taking it!
I just cannot get used to having to watch adverts again!
My Mrs watches the itv soaps religiously and has done for over 25yrs, and being honest I watch em too 😏.
We've just got rid of sky+ after some 24yrs where we series recorded or watched em 10mins behind and fast forwarded the ads.
I've read that another subscription in needed for ITV-X and maybe I can watch without the dammed adverts?
Anyone? ......before I cancel the contract?

You have 2 options with EE TV with regards to itv content. Either:
- If you can, plug in an aerial and use the traditional ‘Freeview mode’ so you can record and skip adverts, or
- Don't record anything on itv channels and pay for itvX premium to remove standard advert breaks, use the watchlist and watch on demand
A few pointers:
- itvX Premium can be paid monthly or annually. Often you can pay monthly, cancel and get a discounted offer to keep it - rinse and repeat
- itvX Premium removes “normal” advert breaks when watching on demand, but does not remove all adverts. You still sometimes have to sit through a pre-roll advert promoting other itv shows - these cannot be skipped
- The itvX app on the EE TV Pro box is not as fully featured as the version on other devices, so there are additional channels (known as FAST channels), that are not available. You can watch these on another device if you wish
- itvX Premium does not remove adverts from live broadcasts (including FAST channels mentioned above)
Hope this helps.
From a Sky perspective, if you use anything other than Sky Q (similar principle to EE TV via aerial), you have to pay extra to skip adverts these days. Sadly, the days of recording and skipping are numbered now, no matter what platform you use.

somewhere?
Do I just plug it in the box and search on the EE Box for Freeview Channels?
The ITV-X is a last resort really, as any more subscription charges and the
Mrs will throw me out!
😉

I feel your pain! 🤣

Just note that you will lose access to all the internet delivered Freeview channels and will be relying entirely on the aerial versions. Might want to plug the aerial in the TV first to see what you get.
Switching modes will delete all recordings though so, time it correctly.

Wow! ........This ain't gonna be easy then!
Think ITV-X might be the only way to solve the add breaks then.
............. I'll do a search and see how much extra it's going to cost me?

Standard pricing last time I looked was £59 for 12 months or £5.99 per month. As I said earlier, if you pay monthly you will get an offer to stay if you cancel before it renews.

Sometimes they let you have a 7 day free trial.

I suspect the software has recently been updated, because I did a factory reset yesterday in order to add an aerial. When you restart the TV Box Pro it asks if you want to keep your recordings. I screwed up when I first set up EE TV because the manual was misleading. I, therefore, only had access to the IP channels, but now have IP plus Freeview.

Yeah, I re-wrote what I posted on switching modes a couple of times as I thought that was the case, but as I switched my Pro Box for an Apple TV I couldn't test the latest, so stuck with what it says in the help pages.
