EE TV Recordings

I have pro TV box. It's not giving me the option to record programs other  than by using the record button on the remote. It was an option under the info on the program, now it's just set reminder / search.

Also I could always record programs on Wildearth TV, now I can't. It's not a subscription channel. Why have recordings changed??

Hi @Dpt71

The 'info' button will give you the option to set a reminder and view the program, if it's available 'on demand'.

To record a program, you just need to find it on the guide and hit the 'record' button on your remote control.

Hi Chris

Thank you for your however you've just told me what I already knew. The ability to 'manually' record by pressing 'info' and using arrow function to the option of 'record' has disappeared. Other than me knowing you can press the record button, there is no indication how to record on the main TV guide screen anymore. It also used to have an icon at the bottom of the TV guide along with all other functions.  If I was a new user I would definitely struggle to know how I record a program.

This also seems to have happened when the menus were all changed around a week ago. It used to be you could access 'my tv' straight from the initial options, just drop down to spaces and you were in the menu for recordings. Now I have to arrow left into a thinner option of the menus and then start going down the menus. I appreciate EE are probably trying to improve functionality however adding steps into a process doesn't improve it, it makes it more complicated and less user friendly.

Also I asked about Wildearth and why I can no longer record this channel. It's a free channel, there is no subscription required. It's something I watch every single day and thousands of others do as well. For me specifically, I watch two 3 hour programs which are shown live, one is on very early in the morning, the other mid afternoon, I can't watch them live but I catch up on them as it's a live safari drive in South Africa so keeping up to date is interesting etc.  This is literally a program that has helped me and so many others to get some escapism. All sorts of reasons I love it. I can't see any reason why it's not available to record and I would really like for someone to be able to check whether this has been an oversight and can be switched back on please!!

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

I agree that  the Record option  is missing  from several screens where it should be an option.

As you say the record button actually does work but it is not displayed as an option.

Seems an obvious fault to me that needs to be passed back to the EETV developers.

I can't record a lot of programmes either. Lots of them don't have record as an option and when I try and record without the icon it says 'this is not possible at the moment '. It doesn't happen on BBC channels but it does on all others. I contacted channel 4 as thought it might be an issue with them but they said there are no restrictions on their recordings.

@Ben406 would you be able to please give an example of a future programme that you don't see the record option for? I'll check the data.

Wednesday 3rd September 6:20pm Remains of the Day.

Thursday 4th 6:45pm Jumanji

Friday 5th 9pm September Django unchained

All on Film4.

Thanks.

All of those programmes have correct data, and are recordable on a few boxes we've tested here @Ben406

If they're not recordable for you this morning still, it suggests a problem with your TV Guide data.

Things I would try (try 1 first, then move on to the others if the issue still persists):

1. Scan for channels - this should cause the channel index to be reset, and hopefully the TV Guide data with it.

2. Factory reset: keep recordings.

3. Full factory reset.

I did it all and none of it worked. As I am also on a thread about the box
switching itself on by itself can I request a new box?
