Playback - can you watch recordings on an ee mini box as i have seen conflicting

I've just agreed Ee tv instead of sky and it was on basis you can watching recorded programmes on your mini box (as seen on line) now I've seen conflicting info and im worried you can't as I dont want t it if you can't?

No. You can't. 

The TV Box Edge equivalent is to stream the programme from a catch up player - it can't access recordings.

Hello, 

I have also just joined EE. As with you I wanted my box to record channels, the package I picked said it recorded and I thought great. I received the Edge Mini TV box , sadly I discovered that it would not record any TV programmes and the record button would only work on the on demand channels. 

I phoned EE about this and they confirmed the Edge Mini would not record and only the Edge Pro would do this. I asked if I could change the mini for a pro. I was told I could but I had to pay a one off charge of £30 (which was added onto my first bill), after this my monthly payments would be at the agreed rate at the package I picked.
