I see the below on the BT website under the further information details at the bottom of the TV package page with regards to a no frills TV option, but this is not widely advertised elsewhere.

Is it a mistake that needs rectifying?

"No Frills – Up to 94 free-to-air channels. 7 days of catch-up through your TV guide. The latest movies to buy or rent in the EE TV Player. Pause, record and rewind these channels on your EE TV set top box. 12-month minimum term"

No, it's not an error.

So do you need to ask specifically when you call?

Correct, but you're basically paying a subscription just to have a TV Box with no subscriptions.

Would be handy as an option for customers etc that just want a basic recording box for free to air channels who don't want to pay £250 for a retail alternative one up front, so might be worth considering advertising in future so that all potential customer market segments are catered for.

Or even an edge box to try and offer an alternative to a Freely streaming box.
