I am very sorry to hear this @SRsbrgh
What a horrible situation for her, did she manage to get the money back?
If she hasn't already if she can change all passwords that use the same email and password combinations to be safe as well.

Hi,
No she hasn't managed to get her money back, it's on going but doesn't look good.
And I still hold EE somewhat responsible because of the text message sent that takes the customer to what clearly appears to be a genuine EE site.
If she had not responded to the text message sent not once but twice claiming to be from EE she would never have lost the money she did.
Once again I do feel that EE should have done more to protect its customers, my daughter has never received an email from EE telling them to be aware of fraudulent text messages and what I have personally learnt from going on your site is that it is quite clear that EE was aware of this text message, and never really did very much to stop it.

@SRsbrgh : How is it at all possible for EE to put a stop to it until after the event? How can EE prevent you or anyone else sending out emails in its name & building a website that mirrors EE's own?
In the end it all boils down to Internet awareness & being able to spot the signs of fake & fraud (of which there are quite a few).

I just received it too.
HOW DID THEY GET MY NUMBER?
EE do need to account for the fact that customers mobile numbers are being obtained by fraudsters.

@Otter72 : It's a scam! There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to update your a/c.
Don't go there but what was the link?
Report it to your network provider by forwarding it to 7726 (S.P.A.M. on your keypad).

Hi, I don't know why, but I can't upload a picture of the scam message I've received today.
