Hi there @Abbiehalls87

Thanks for coming to the community.

I would suggest changing any passwords you have that may use the same log in username and password.

If you entered any bank details, please contact your bank and let them know.

We do have a Spam and phishing - How to stay safe and report it, support post with full information on these messages and how to report them.

Thanks.

Leanne.

Stupidly started to fill in my personal details on this scam message as it looks very real indeed!!!  Then checked my account and saw EE had been paid so realised was a scam. Now worried these b....... have a few of my personal details. Bummer!!!

Just received this today, I had an very strong feeling it was a scam but as I’ve had recent texts from Halifax about my account balance being low I clicked the link just to see what it was, the page didn’t load as “the server could not be found”. I wouldn’t have put any details in regardless however, am I at risk of any danger even by just clicking the link? (despite it not loading the page)

Hi there @Foxyloxy

They can look very convincing.

Have you changed your log in passwords?

Did you enter any bank details?

Leanne.

Hi there @Bensuun

If you have not shared any details, clicking on the link should not share any of your personal details.

If you still have the text can you can forward the message to 7726, we will be able to get this looked into.

You can find some useful tips on staying safe online in Spam and phishing - How to stay safe and report it.

Thanks.

Hi Leane.

Well I’ve looked and looked on EE as to where I change my p/w and can I find it? No. Most frustrating.

I didn’t get to giving bank details fortunately as stopped and checked my bank account to see the monthly payment had been taken only a day ago so that’s when I googled EE scam by text and saw it was indeed a scam!

Only worried now that I did enter my mother’s maiden name and my address then I stopped!

Fingers crossed all will be okay but I’m calling EE shortly to find how to change my p/w although I have it as one of those secure ones that are chosen for you so maybe don’t need to worry.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there @Foxyloxy

Thanks for coming back to me.

If you log into your My EE account online, select Menu > Profile > Edit next to your password.

This will change your My EE account password for the app and online not for when you call us 🙂

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

I just received  text scam from +447501909197 telling me its EE and “unable to process my latest bill. In order to avoid fees, please update your payment info via”: and it gives a link.

I have deleted it.

i just had a scam message :   " [EE]: we were unable to process your latest bill. in order to avoid fees please update your payment information.  " and then a link..      the obvious givaway is that there is a mobile number at the top . messages from EE   don't have a number at the top.

this is the second text in a week.

I just had this message too. Best to delete I think as my payment has also gone through fine.
