Hi is anyone else getting messages supposed to be from EE  saying they've got thousands of rewards points that's going to be  lost in 2 days if they dont  click on the link to spend them?

Hi @Kirstcoll88

If you get in touch with your bank and let them know the bank details have been provided they can make sure all relevant steps are taken for you.

A few days ago I got a scam text about some EE points reward programme. It was obviously a scam because they included a tiny url link, but the timing of the text message was incredibly suspicious.

The text arrived just hours after I upgraded my phone and came alongside all the usual texts from upgrading and changing deals, so I initially assumed it was some kind of new reward thing from that. The timing makes it seem more legitimate and it will trick people.

I know that EE (like any retailer) is selling data on customers who buy phones with third party companies. I believe one of YOUR partners is running these scams. The odds of a scam text pretending to be EE coming in just hours after upgrading are astronomical, you 100% have a data breach here.

I could inderstand how people fall for it......

I also got this message and it came at the same time as a legitimate EE text. So I think EE has a problem it needs to sort out.

Hi @MariaSC,

I'm sorry to hear you've received a scam text.

These phishing messages are not sent out by EE and any similar timings to official EE communications would be coincidental.
