SIM card

I have had a new phone and SIM card as they were recently damaged it says I don't need to activate as it should work but the SIM card is now saying SIM 1 not provisioned what does this mean and how do I sort it out

Transfer of number from BT

I was persuaded to leave BT after many years and move to EE. I was assured that my old phone number would be transferred automatically since the transfer was "in house", but I am still waiting.I thought BT were bad, but have I made a big mistake?
