Resolved! Change of number

I bought my son a new phone for Xmas. He was just on a giffgaff thing. I did that PAC number thing to transfer his number over. I’ve set up his new phone today but still shows his old number. Does this happen automatically?

Moving to EE

Do you know how long porting takes? As I’m in the same situation moving to EE. I shared my PAC code 7 days ago but my number is still live with my previous supplier. Do I just use my new sim to activate the move?
