I was persuaded to leave BT after many years and move to EE. I was assured that my old phone number would be transferred automatically since the transfer was "in house", but I am still waiting.
I thought BT were bad, but have I made a big mistake?

You would need to follow the advice provided and please call us on either 150 or from a EE landline 0800 079 8586, or from any other provider 0207 362 0200 as we have no account access on the community to get this escalated for you.
If you call the mobile care team can check the progress and fully update you on the number transfer.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Just a reminder that this is a peer-to-peer forum so I'm a fellow customer offering advice rather than it being "my mistake" that you're having to chase up.
It's actually good (in a strange way) that it didn't accept your PAC. It means the original agent did submit it (it'll only work once) so it's in progress somewhere.
Give the number a call that Leanne's shared and they'll get it sorted.

nobody answers the phone - an utter disgrace. Simpler to cancel my contract
and go elsewhere.
Who di I complain to please?

@DannyDonovan , this here is not customer service, but a public forum, where when possible, people, most of whom are customers like you, try to help.
This is why we have made suggestions to help you, including ways to contact EE, which are all free numbers. Sometimes things can go wrong, and sorry this has happened to you, but you have been given sound advice, no account access here in the forums.
