Phone number not been transferred

Joined EE from O2 around 2 weeks ago. Couldnt transfer my number myself so had a call with EE where I was told that they would cancel my old contract with O2 and transfer my old number to replace the new number that came with my new sim. I then got a message saying it was completed and I was able to use my number.

HOWEVER, when I call people some of them receive calls with my name above, others receive a random number. No one can call me from my old number and the voicemail says “no longer in use”.

I don’t know what to do as I now cant get a PAC message as my old contract is now cancelled and I don’t have the sim to put into my phone to receive the code. Which is annoying as I was told they would handle it and that it was then completed. I’m on 24/7 call out with my job and people now need to call me from Whatsapp to get a hold of me. I also can’t receive confirmation codes for other websites/apps as I don’t have that number.

Also when I called EE after switching I asked ”what is the number im calling from” to which they read out the correct one. So I am completely befuddled.

Tried contacting EE but the automated voice system just hangs up on me OR tells me I will get a call back from an operator. BUT I CANT RECEIVE CALLS!!!

Does anyone know what I can do in this situation or how I can get a hold of a real human being to discuss?

Hello @aimeeg467 ,

Welcome to the community,

When you ring customer service, just press 2 and you should get through to a person, but it looks like your number is not showing on your phone. Have you rebooted your phone? Have you checked in settings to see what number is showing there?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
