New sim only contract and new phone

Hi, i currently have an iPhone with a sim only contract with EE.

i have ordered a new iPhone directly from Apple and upgraded my sim only contract with ee. The new phone arrives today and apparently the new sim in the next day or two. I’m obviously keeping the same number.

When the new phone arrives today, should I set it up, using my existing ee sim, or should i wait until the new upgraded sim arrives?

Thank you

Jay

@Jaylockwood1978  you probably won’t receive a new Sim card as it’s only an account change to your existing tariff so just put your SIM card in the device.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

That’s what i though but it says my new sim should be arriving in the next 1 -2 working days?

@Jaylockwood1978  that’s an automated response.   if you do receive a new Sim, it’s up to you if you want to use it because your current one will still work

Ok, cool, thank you. So I should just turn the new phone from apple on and set up as directed, using my current SIM card.

@Jaylockwood1978   Yes.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated

@Jaylockwood1978  not a problem, you’re most welcome.

 When setting up the new device, you will be asked. Do you want to set up the eSIM for that new device if you don’t need to use two Sim cards in your phone, decline it and put your Sim card in the new phone.

 if you’re not aware, when you switch on your new device, just place it next to your old device and follow the on-screen prompts as it will automatically set up for your transferring everything from your old device to your new device.
