Hi - Renewing a BT broadband and sim only contract recently, they 'transferred' me to EE for a sim card which we use for our gates. Kept the old number but having a few issues which hopefully we can sort out. A couple of questions: -
1. Other community posts suggest EE gate sims essentially stop operating after a period of time if no chargeable texts etc. are received/sent regardless of regularly paying the monthly charge. The old O2 sim didn't have this. Question...is this true and if yes, after how long will it stop operating and, how can I fix it when it does happen?
2. I've downloaded the EE app and trying to link the sim, but it wants to send a verification code to the sim. As it's used in gates, I cannot read any verification code. If there any solution?
Many thanks

Hi there @JAYCEE55
Thanks for coming to the community 🙂
If the SIM card is on a SIM Only contract and not pay as you go which is topped up, this will remain active.
If you would like to get the EE account set up and unable to receive the verification text, please call us and the team will help you.
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.

Hi Leanne,
Many thanks. It is a SIM only contract payable monthly - great it can remain active. I will call the team to set up my account properly.
Cheers

Despite the best efforts of your colleague, unable to set up app or account. We've agreed that as it is only a basic monthly sim only contract, that we'd just leave it. I only wanted the on line account/app to avoid paper billing etc. Let's see! Cheers

The posts are reading are in relation to PAYG SIMs. You have a contract so it doesn't apply to your SIM.
