LTE-M query

Sorry but there wasn't a heading option to cover our query.

We are trying to buy a GPS tracker for our beloved Houdini GSD pup and the one which interests us the most is made in UK but runs on O2 and Vodaphone, which are utterly useless out here in deeply rural south Lincolnshire.  I am advised by the company:

" 'XX product' has two SIMS which use low-power mobile phone network technologies called LTE-M and NB-IoT. We're finding that LTE-M is working better with our trackers so here's a link to check whether you have LTE-M in your area. Please note, it also gives 2G, 3G and 4G but it's the bottom LTE-M that the tracker uses."

We have a 4G mast nearby which is in the direction where the escapee has headed on the two occasions he has managed to escape.  He is only 14 months old and thinks it's a game and won't come back to us once we find him, so tracking him is critical.  He's been lucky twice, but if this were to happen at night, or he were to see a deer and hurtle after it into the fields and woods, there is no way we would see him and he hasn't got the maturity or commonsense to know where he is.  It's terrifying.  We are pulling out the stops with the gates and fencing, but we have to cater for a worst-case scenario.

TIA

EE have run some LTE-M trials for corporate users, but there is no commercial service at this time.

Hello.

Thank you Bristolian for your swift response. It’s disappointing, but at least I know where I stand.

Back to the drawing board.

Kind regards…

Jo

Hello, does EE now  offer a LTE M or NB IOT network now?
