Google Pixel 7 eSIM

Hi,

I just got a Google Pixel 7. I normally use dual SIM phones because I have a Spanish phone and an English one and thought I would be able to do the same with the eSIM. However, when I try to set up the eSIM, it asks to add an EE QR code, but the SIM I want to add is not an EE SIM. Is there a way to add a second SIM that is not EE?

Thanks but I've had enough. Feels like no one can help. Disappointed that EE are unable to resolve an issue like this especially when they charge a premium over other networks. Enquired few days ago about moving 2 lines to EE too. But think I'll hold that thought. Don't get me wrong, EE are fantastic in many areas, just this one issue I had felt like everyone wanted to duck and dive from it.

Appreciate your perseverance in trying to help.

Did you ever get a resolution to this? Just got a Pixel 9 Pro Fold this week and it's the same. It only wants to scan a EE eSIM.

EE told me that the Pixels are all unlocked and they don't lock phones. It might be true that the carrier lock on the eSIM isn't enabled but if you modify the software so it'll only scan an EE QR code then it's still locked for the end user. Need to see if there's a resolution or I'll likely return it because it's missold as unlocked when it's not.
