Esim on an old phone

Hi,

I am abroad for a while (EU) and I want to use an old phone to add an eSIM from the country I am currently in. That old phone doesn't have a sim card anymore obviously and only the wifi works on it.  Can I still add a foreign Esim to it? Because I had a look in the networks settings, chose "set up an eSIM" and it says "Scan a QR code from EE". So I am wondering if a foreign eSIM or a SIM would work.

Thank you

Phones sold in the UK before Dec 2021 could have been SIM network-locked, anything sold since cannot be. Whether that "off-net" SIM is an electronic or physical one is immaterial.

Try another network's SIM in it to be sure.

@MorganeL  You have too get a QR code from a local network,  with you pressing the get QR code on the device it thinks you want to move a EE number to the eSIM.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you!

Thank you !
