Hi
I have a full works SIM only contract which includes roaming everywhere. I am currently visiting USA and I can't make any outgoing calls but I can use my data and tx.
I have tried all the correct codes to call out and even changing my spending cap higher in case this was the issue but still nothing a call just doesn't connect.
Please someone sort this as I need to make calls while I am away.
Thanks

Hi @mE8419
What device do you have and is there a roaming setting under settings.
Are you using international codes when trying to call.
Can anyone call you.
Thanks

Hi
I am using vivo x100 pro. I have data roaming on under settings. I don't see any settings about calling out.
Yes I have tried the international code and without no matter what I try the call just stays silent then ends

Try switching networks via a manual network search in your settings.
I believe AT&T was the one that some people switched to and it worked, but this may have changed.

This sounds very much like a VoLTE issue, swapping networks manually should indeed be the way to go. At the very least it will remove another variable.

I restarted my phone and so far it has worked I can call out. Not sure what the issue was but if it happens again I shall post back.
Cheers for the suggestions and help guys fingers crossed it's finally sorted

Hi
Your spot on. I restarted my phone and I suddenly could call. The only thing that changed was the VoLTE symbol appeared. (I have this ticked on as standard).
Unfortunately the symbol has disappeared again today and I can't call anymore. This is very frustrating as I shouldn't have to keep restarting my device when I want to make a call. Never happened on my previous network.
I tried selecting another network manually but it just said no service.
Abu suggestions for a permanent fix?
Cheers

Hi there @mE8419
Thanks for coming back to us.
If the signal drops when roaming, this could be a loss of service on the roaming network and a restart can help you get connected.
If this continues, you can get in touch with our tech guides and they can check everything at our end for you.

Whilst valid advice, I don't think there's anything the frontline agents can realistically do here, if anything they could break a setting that's self-evidently already working.
This scenario likely needs a fault ticket raising to have network-level roaming config checked over. The fact that a restart resolves it for a short time before subsequently breaking, proves user-level config as being spot-on.
Might also be worth checking which local network you're connected to when you have problems calling/VoLTE drops, and which you connect to with a restart. If it's the same one, I'll repeat the advice above. If it's different, then your auto-selection is preferring a network that evidently has VoLTE-roaming issues - you may be able to use manual selection as a short-term workaround.

Hey @bristolian
Thanks for replying and for the feedback.
Our tech guides can raise a ticket to be investigated by the relevant support team, if needed, after completing some troubleshooting.
Thank you 🙂
Leanne.
