Hi

I am in Iraq and in need of calling my bank in the UK urgently and it's telling me calls are blocked....I can receive calls and have been able to make them in the past.

I have plenty of credit and just bought a @£20 data add-on as someone said it was what I needed....I think it may have been a waste.  I am using a dual Sim phone a local SIM for use in Iraq and my ee Sim for usage in the UK. Could it be that o need credit on my local SIM???  I am desperate to get in touch with my bank....any help out there guys????

Does anyone know how to call the UK from Iraq (my current location) on PAYG? I have roaming turned on and have just purchased a Zone D data add on pack at £20 that I am now worried was a big waste of money...I need to call my bank and it's saying outgoing calls are barred...I am using dual SIM local SIM for local use EE for UK usage could the issue be not having local call credit at the mo

Yes I have £70 currently on there....but then I just bought the data add on for £20 so I have £50 left...plenty enough to cover outgoing call ?? I can receive incoming calls though  yrs I am on PAYG no contract or subscription

Can you call other UK numbers? Have you been able to call UK numbers previously on this trip?

Have you tried manually selecting alternative Iraqi networks, and are the symptoms the same?

Hi I've been here a while yes been able to call the UK. No I can't call any numbers at all. I do use a dual Sim mobile a korek Sim for local usage and my ee PAYG for UK use. I do need to top up my local SIM perhaps the issue? I just bought a zone d data add on as someone suggested I needed that £20 that is probs wasted...thanks for your time much appreciated

Voice calls are charged per-minute, your data bundle is for an amount of internet usage, the two are entirely different.

Are you sure your EE SIM is set as active for voice calls when you're trying to call the UK? If there's an international call bar on your Iraqi SIM and that's active for voice, then these symptoms would be explained.

Adding credit to your Iraqi SIM would have no impact on your EE roaming service. Edited to add that there's no need to create multiple or separate replies & posts for one query. Just use the "reply" function to keep all replies in the same new thread.

@DonaRasol : You don't need data to make calls.

You don't need credit on your foreign SIM to use your EE SIM.
