hello
I am using my EE sim card abroad, which only receives SMS, and I can not make any calls or send SMS with my SIM card. All incoming calls are also not working, as I asked here in the past. I know after six months of inactivity, the sim card will be deactivated by the EE, and I should do something that is chargeable to prevent it.
But I can not do anything chargeable for now. I topup my sim card with 5 pounds every 3-4 months, but I can not send SMS or make or receive calls and I just receive SMS, which is free in roaming
I need to know just to top up and not use credits. Can save my SIM card from deactivation?

@highlander926 : Where are you abroad?
Do you have any PAYG credit on your SIM?

yes
i just top up my sim card every 3-4 months, and now I have £12 on my account, which I can not use in any way, and I just can top up more later
Is a top-up enough to keep the Simcard alive?

Any chargeable activity will keep the SIM out of hibernation. These include: making a call, sending a text, data usage, top ups and buying a pack.
Have you tried manually connecting to a different available network?
