Hi all
I've just joined ee with a new PAYG sim. It didn't come with any QR codes. I've registered and logged into my ee (app and website) but I can't find an esim option anywhere. How do you get an esim? Thanks

Took me a while to understand PAYG isn’t Pay Monthly even though it does pay monthly… lol

I had an ee contract and an eSIM - then I switched my account from contract to pay-as-you-go. I still have an eSIM of course. All working nicely.
Then.... I just got a new iPhone that doesn't have a SIM slot (I live in the US where the iPhone 14 has no SIM slot) and all hell has broken loose as they have no clue how to transfer an eSIM from one phone to another on a PAYG account given their stance that PAYG doesn't support eSIM.
They really haven't thought this one out. SIM cards' days are numbered and they need to get their $hit together for ALL their customers.

As you say, EE don't support eSIMs for PAYG and as a UK network there's no rush to provide eSIMs yet, though give it a few years and I'm sure Apple will try to force the issue here too. Apart from getting a replacement SIM sent to a UK address, there's not a lot EE can do here.

Agreed. EE's information on the subject is a mess of half truths and broken links. They should consider employing some customer service staff again. EE have gone sharply downhill over the last couple of years.

This reply is old. Is the answer still current.....do EE support eSIM's for PAYG?
Thanks. Noel.
