Do texts and calls automatically come out of my credit on my PAYG Sim

I have just got a pay as you go sim for my phone. I added £30 onto it in the EE store today. I am confused whether my texts and calls will be automatically charged straight from my credit or if I have to separately buy minutes and texts from my credit to be able to text or call someone?

@RH1231 : Yes, but only if you not got a pack to cover them. Chances are if you've just bought your PAYG SIM it will already come with a pack of mins, texts & data.

What does texting AL to 150 from your no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?
