My parents have an old dumb phone with just a standard payg sim.
They've now got a smartphone and want to be able to use a small amount of data.
Can this be added to the existing sim?
I don't really want it to be a monthly amount, so ideally if they load money to it, the data is available until the money runs out, the same as the existing set up for calls.
Is this possible?
Also they need a new sin card for the phone and want to keep the same number
Thanks

- On PAYG data doesn't work that way. Unlike calls & texts, data cannot be bought directly from the PAYG credit. You need to buy a 30-day pack or data add-on to have data. With the old phone they would not have been using data.
- Take phone & old SIM into an EE shop with Photo ID & they'll transfer number, any SIM contacts & credit if applicable to a replacement SIM of correct size for free or order a replacement SIM online at Order a replacement SIM for £1.50 or phone CS for one. It will come as a Combi-SIM with all 3 sizes as push-outs.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

So that would mean that the data only lasts 30 days?
What's the smallest they do
Might try and get to a store, see what they say

Yes the old one works, it's just too big for the new phone

You can only get data either in the form of a pack of calls, text & data for 30 days at a time or as a data add-on for either 7 or 30 days.
- £10 pack with 8GB data, 500 minutes, unlimited texts.
- £2 add-on giving 150MB data for 7 days or £6 add-on giving 750MB data for 30 days.
Packs generally work out better than add-ons.
