Hi,
I'm going to order a free EE sim with no credit so I can check coverage in my area.
Will I be able to call EE customer services without credit? This should allow me to see the reception strength & test coverage.
What about receiving calls? Will that work without credit?
Thanks.

Calls to 0800 numbers are free from all UK phones, and do not require credit.
Calls to any other number would require credit, PAYG SIMs often come with an initial token credit amount to cover this scenario.

Calls to EE-CS from PAYG lines are free for the IVR, but 25p/call for speaking to an agent.
Receiving calls should work without credit, once your SIM has been activated by an outbound call.

Hello Bristolian,
How would I make an outbound call without credit?

@bristolian : Free PAYG SIMs come with no token credit. They come with a token amount of data, 50MB I think..
