Add on confusion

I have had an EE/Orange PAYG sim for many years. Because I need more access to the internet when out and about now I purchased an add on last week giving 150 mins call time, 200 texts and 50MB data. I still can not access the internet when out and about, do I need a new SIM or is there something in the phone settings I need to do?

Any help would be greatly received.

Hi @mikerjones57

Welcome to the community.

What kind of phone are you using? Is 'mobile data' switched on in your phone's network settings?

Chris

Thanks for your reply. I have a Huawei Y6 2019 mobile. Yes mobile data is switched on. Totally confused.

OK, thank you, @mikerjones57

Are your APN settings showing correctly?

@mikerjones57 : What does texting AL to 150 from your no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?

Texting AL to 150 was no help (think it is free)

How do you know it's of no help to us? What's it actually say?

I give up, still can't access Internet even though I've got the data add on. Tried contacting EE, impossible!

What response did you receive when you texted AL to 150 @mikerjones57?

James

The reply just gives the texts, minutes and data left of the add on. Obviously no data used!
