Re: Warning Fake iPhone Handsets Being Delivered by DPD

My husband has had an Apple Iphone 16 delivered by DPD. We both didnt want the Iphone and agreed with, what we thought, was EE correspondance, to return the Iphone. So We got a message on Whats app showing a barcode to hand over to the post office, to print out a label to place on our returns parcel. We discovered afterwards that it was a fake address, a scamster, that we have sent the parcel to instead of EE. We were supposed to send this iphone 16 to EE, instead the iphone is getting sent to some scammer in Birmingham. I am really stressed out over this and worried sick about it. What do i do? The police is coming round to see us on Wednesday, today is Tuesday. Can anyone help us on this situation???

Hi @Mel1944

If you genuinely believe the phone isn't a genuine iPhone 16 Pro, the first thing I'd do is gather as much evidence as possible.

Check the serial number via Settings > General > About and verify it with Apple directly at https://checkcoverage.apple.com.

Did you purchase your device directly with us or through a third party?

Seems like after couple of years this scam is back…

Received phone with DPD, and found out it was a fake iPhone 18pro max instead of a proper 18pro…

EE is going to get back to me, but definitely will be ringing the police tomorrow…
