Upgrading phone - how does this affect my and friends and family discount?

I currently have friends and family discount and want to upgrade. Do I need to ask my son to generate a new code or will it be automatically transferred to the new phone. Also now the costs of the phone are spoilt to the sim contract and the payment of the phone into 2 direct debits do they each have the discount applied? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the community.

The discount will automatically carry over. It will only deduct from the monthly airtime charge, not the equipment charge.

Hi, I’ve had the friends and family discount for eight years now, a few years back my sister in law left EE, she was told at the time that the discounts would continue as long as the line remained open. 

I upgraded last week to new IPhone, my confirmation  email said I was still getting the discount. Today I’ve had a text saying my F&F discount has ended. I called customer services and the guy said it should of stopped once she left EE.

I’ve upgraded at least a couple of times since then, and to be honest had I of known that my discount was ending, I wouldn’t have upgraded this time. I’ve got a complaint being investigated, but should it not be resolved satisfactorily, I will be leaving EE at the end of the contract.
