AirPods Max gen 2 Apple Music bundle issue

Hi some help would be appreciated

I have 5 numbers on my account, 2 have Apple Music already, one is a watch and 2 spare numbers that don’t have any tech add ons.
I used one of those numbers to add an ‘add on’ , the AirPods Max with 24 month Apple Music - to give to my dad. After I received the headphones nothing appeared on my account. No email nothing. So I called EE to ask how to active Apple Music for my dad. It turns out that because the number on my account has less than 24 remaining- the tech add on had be ‘moved’ to the main number in the account, it just so happens that number has Apple one which means I can’t use the Apple Music 24 bundle I’m told. This doesn’t feel right. I’m told a ‘manager’ says I’ll need to return the headphones as there’s no way to get the Apple Music add on now.
id love someone to help me understand how to get this fixed, as initially the lady said that she could just move the bundle to another plan (the original one I placed the order from) but said an error message occurred due to the plan being LESS than 24 months, but why sell an add on if it’s time restricted?
Any help would be appreciated

Rob

@robnguy Add to plan items can only be added to within the first 17 months of that contract.  What should have happened was the order refused not switched to a different number.

The item can not be switched to a different number it has to be returned as the order is against that number and the EE system doesn’t allow items to be switch against a different number.
