You will 1st need your phone unlocked from EE to be able to use a US SIM.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
thanks, have just started the process

Absolutely should be enough. Although the US carriers seem to be more of a rip off than EE, they'll give you 'premium data' and then slow you down, for $45 a month (SIM only) what the actual F is wrong with America?

not good then...
might just my old sat nav.

@taff1605 using data for a sat nav on your phone will not use that much data it’s around 5Mb per hour,  it’s just going to be costly to have and you need to make sure that nothing else will use the data at the same time or it’ll be used up.  If it was me I’ll use a sat nav as there is no cost at all.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

If you can add to your tariff try the Roam Abroad add on for £10 per month.

Use for the month then cancel as it's usable on monthly basis.

@hotpot01 : The Roam Abroad Pass is not available for PAYG. OP does not want to enter a lengthy contract just to get it just for a short trip to US.

Didn't realise they were on PAYG as didn't see any reference to it and presumed having a locked handset they were on contract.

Even PAYGs were sold locked to network until recently.
