5G activation

I've had my sim card for ages. I don't have any provision for 5G. I called 150 who put me thru to the tech team. They told me I couldn't have 5G as my sim only plan is called 12m SIM Max 4GB.

Surely they can provision 5G on my account regardless of what the tariff is called?

4GB isn't 4G.

You're on a legacy MAX plan that doesn't include 5G. Have you considered upgrading?

I have, however I'm only paying £2 per month and I'll obviously not get near that on a new tariff.

I just find it hard to believe they can't physically do something behind the scenes to switch it on. Suspect it's something to do with the archaic billing system.

Why would they? All networks add new features to newer plans. There would be no incentive to upgrade if not.
