connected data SIM 120gb 12 month

I have purchased a 'connected data sim' £50 with 120gb that lasts for 12 months.

It is working fine in my motorhome wifi router.

I have been unable to add it my EE account, however I can see remaining data and buy more 'data' at add-on.ee.co.uk using a laptop connected to the router.

I travel to France and Italy in a few weeks - I cannot work  out from the terms & conditions is this will work in EU without a £2 a day charge? or if there are data restrictions?

I do not see how I can buy a roaming add-on at the above link?

Any help much appreciated.

Morning @Cnp17

Thanks for coming to the community.

When did you purchase the SIM?

Speak soon 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

I bought the sim on monday this week. Put it in my motorhome wifi router on wednesday.

Thanks @Cnp17

In this case, the daily charge will apply.

Please see our EU Roaming After Brexit, Help page for more details.

Leanne.

Thank you,

I am not sure how I will be charged though, as (and I think because its data only in a router) I can't register it in my EE account.

Its not a problem as I have a solution to data in EU without this card, but I wanted to know if it was possible - or if I could buy an add on to do this.

Hi @Cnp17

Is the SIM card on a pay monthly contract and you receive a bill each month?

If so, this would be added to the bill.

Leanne.

No its prepaid and last 12 months, or until the data is used up.

This is a Data Pre Loaded PAYG Sim, I could be wrong but I dont believe you can Roam with these Sims.

By all means try it, but have a Plan B in place, couple of other pointers, most modern LTE MiFi Routers have a Sim Roaming Option within the Routers Admin Settings, so make sure this is set correctly, also even though its a 12 Month Sim, use it (Data or Text) as these can have a habit of going into permanent hibernation if not used under the 6 Month Rule.

You won't be charged anything extra. As yet EE haven't introduced any charges for PAYG users to use their UK allowances in the EU & haven't said when they will.

MyEE doesn't work for registering PAYG MBB devices or at least those with data SIMs. It stops at telling you to connect your device & login to it, but when you've done as instructed it doesn't have anywhere for you to say you've done it.

You may continue using your device but you just can't register it to MyEE.

  1. Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no.
  2. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from the device will tell you your usage.
  3. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to buy add-ons.

These should still work.

Thank you, yes these links work and the process to register is exactly as described.

It seems odd that EE dont publish anywhere the rules for these sims. I read on another post that its 10gb per month for 12months? It doesnt say that anywhere on the sim packging and will be dissapointing if it is, as it should be clear to a buyer.

From your answer it does seem that the sim should work in eu, I wonder if they will restrict the data though.

Mostly we will be in italy, so I need a backup sim that gets round the FUP if possible
