I have purchased a 'connected data sim' £50 with 120gb that lasts for 12 months.
It is working fine in my motorhome wifi router.
I have been unable to add it my EE account, however I can see remaining data and buy more 'data' at add-on.ee.co.uk using a laptop connected to the router.
I travel to France and Italy in a few weeks - I cannot work out from the terms & conditions is this will work in EU without a £2 a day charge? or if there are data restrictions?
I do not see how I can buy a roaming add-on at the above link?
Any help much appreciated.

From what I remember from when I had similar it'll give you 120GB spread over up to 12 months or when you exhaust it.
It should work in the EU like normal but with a FUP of 25GB pm.

Ok thanks again, it will be interesting to see how we get on over the coming months.

Did the prepaid sim work in Europe or did you revert to plan B?

Hi yes no problems at all. The router was set to roaming and it picked up signal in France, Switzerland and Italy. We still have some data left, about 40gb. This is a really good solution for our motorhome both in UK and EU. Hopefully it will continue.

So to recap, you didnt pay anymore for Roaming, you could use more than 25gb on your Hols and still got data left untill your 12 months is up

@JamieD70 : You don't change the APN when abroad. You're still on EE, although connected via an overseas network.

Yes thats correct. The sim isnt and cant be registered with EE so there isnt any way you can be charged for roaming. I found a setting on my router for SMS forwading to email, which is useful as when powering on in a different country I get to see the texts coming in, similar to our phones.

I have just come across this useful thread. Thank you, you have explained in a short post a lot that has been puzzling me about these (120GB for 12 months) SIMs. The EE web is certainly deficient in managing them.
What I still don't understand and maybe you can help is how much time/data costs when I do a top-up. Eg what will £10 buy me?
And, becoming more relevant, how much international roaming is allowed?

@2dmartin : Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to see what add-ons cost.
