I have this exact same issue. A 'test' SMS went through to the old phone even with no SIM. The message doesn't have a box around it.

Calls, Texts etc from Spain to U.K. I plan to pay £2.29 a day for E.U. roaming.

Will there be additional charges every time I call home (U.K.), or send a text or picture ON TOP of the £2.29 a day I'll pay to use my phone in Spain?
