Voicemail symbol on home page

Recently I've been getting the voicemail symbol appearing on my home screen every time I switch my phone off and on. I have no  messages in my voicemail but the symbol keeps returning. I've cleared the data and cache from the phone app several times but it makes no difference. I've uninstalled the latest updates but the fault remains.

My machine is an Xperia 5ii running on Android 12.

@BelperJon : Get someone to leave you a VM, listen to it & then delete it. See if that clears it.
