I’ve recently swapped phones (keeping the same number. Just got a new device) and I’ve lost my saved voicemails. I had a few that were from one of my grandparents I lost recently and really want these back. Didn’t even think about this being a problem and needing to save another copy before changing phones. To be honest I assumed they were saved to the sim and would transfer over. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if it’s possible to retrieve my lost voicemails?? Please help

Hi @Katie21may voicemails are only kept for a maximum of 21 days. How long agp did you have them?
How long will my voicemails be available for?
- Your voicemail can store a maximum of 50 messages, up to 8 minutes each.
- New messages are stored for 21 days and after you've listened to them, they can be saved and stored for a maximum of 7 days.
If a voicemail message hasn't been listened to you'll receive a free text alert to let you know it's about to be deleted. Voicemail messages are deleted automatically after 21 days.

It's not the swapping of phones that lost your VMs. VMs are not stored on your phone but on an EE server for a limited time. It musta been too long before you went back to them. VMs are kept up to for 21 days while unread or a further 7 days once read & saved.

These voicemails have been saved on my phone for a long time. I recently listened to them and as far as I’m aware they were still there when swapping phones. Now gone

Then you can't be talking about VMs but texts.

If you somehow saved them on your old phone then it is possible they are still on it.
Have you checked the old phone?
What type of phones are they?

I had an iPhone 11 and now iPhone 13. I’ve checked the old phone and they aren’t there. Put my sim back into it and nothing. I had one recent (witching the last week) voicemail transfer over but the other voicemails (months or years old) have not

Ah, are they Apple's Visual VMs? I think these are stored on the phone or in the iCloud. We were talking earlier about ordinary VMs.
