Been in Canada the past few days and was working fine. But since mid day it's been patchy with giving me signal to anything with no R symbol appearing on my bars. Any help appreciated

I have a Roaming pass while in Canada. Over the last few days I haven’t been able to connect to a network so can’t use my phone to call or text or data for the internet etc. Using wifi to write this.
I can’t call EE so trying here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I work in America and my signal has always been great. Been out in Texas for 8 weeks with my phone working fine then this last couple of days there has been no signal. I work with several other guys from the UK who are also on EE with the same problem.

We have had to purchase American sim card 30 day contracts as we need our phones for work.

EE don't seem to have a clue what the problem is but it's obvious there is a major problem as people on this thread are experiencing the same as 20 of my UK guys I work with who are also on EE

Hi @Mrshmid

Syniverse, a company who manage international roaming for various mobile carriers, are investigating an intermittent service issue affecting customers of a number of mobile carriers, including EE, when customers visit North America. Syniverse are working to restore full service as soon as possible, and you can read their latest update, here

In the meantime, we recommend manually searching for AT&T through the network settings of your device.

Leanne.

@Mrshmid  See this post where EE have said what the problem is.

It's a third party problem so EE have no direct control over the issue.

I’m also in Canada and have the same problem..also bought a Roaming add on!

If you can't use the roaming add-on at all then I would think you would have a good case to ask for a refund, and EE may look favourably on a credit for part use, but not much can be done till the issue is fixed.

If it were me, I'd spend a few $s on a a local eSIM and get on with my holiday.

I am having the same issue. I landed in California on the 17th June and have had signal up until 3 days ago. Phone is on SoS only. I have tried contacting Ee via the messaging service on the app but I was told to call… I cannot make a call as I have no service to do so. Really frustrating as I am picking my family up from the airport this afternoon and have no means of contacting them at all!

I spoke with EE CS via a Skype call, thank you.

Everything is on that should be on, it is in my plan etc.  Spoke then with technical support, apparently there is a level 2 problem with roaming in the US at the moment. No timeframe given to resolution. Some people are experiencing data issues only, others are having no connection to any network.

Just told to buy a sim for out here to use as it may not come back up whilst I am out here, and was offered 10 pound on my account toward it, which I declined as thats more hassle than I want, plus I have a 2500 miles ofndriving coming up, no idea on the data costs for all of those hours. Fantastic! At least I know it's not something I've done or not done. I can manage with WiFi when I get it and will just download the Google maps offline for directions for my road trips, just hoped for more ease.

Hope this is helpful for anyone else having problems. Just a shame it's out of out hands.

If you have that much driving ahead of you, and an eSIM capable phone, it may be worth looking at an eSIM, it's a few mins to order and and usually working straight away.

I'm sure Syniverse will be tyring to fix this as soon as they can, but it's always good to have a backup option.

  • Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I’m abroad in the USA. Since yesterday I’ve been seeing SOS and can’t make call. I got back a temporary connection after I switched off and restarted my phone - connected for about 10 minutes and then went off again. So this must be a system problem which EE needs to sort out. Yes, I do have roaming and add-ons and it was working fine for 6 days and suddenly the connection disappeared yesterday
