Been in Canada the past few days and was working fine. But since mid day it's been patchy with giving me signal to anything with no R symbol appearing on my bars. Any help appreciated

Glad to know I'm not alone.
Same here. Working fine for a week, suddenly just stopped yesterday (26th June) and can't get back on.
Beyond frustrating and surprised it's taken them longer than 24 hours to remedy this.

Yep been this way for 2 days now... I'm on the west coast and 8hrs behind, so trying to even message ee ( using Hotspot from other phone) getting someone to actually speak with ( computer takes you in circles), thought he fixed it to only find out nope...
Now they're closed again until midnight my time...
So there's a free calling number with wifi through Skype...+44 800 0798 586
This works for calling ee...I just wish I knew it before 9 pm uk time 😖

I had an unforeseen and urgent problem to deal with today (I’m in LA). First I borrowed a phone on a US network and that was OK but its owner needed it back for work before the problem was sorted. Was just about at my wits end when I suddenly got three bars on my own phone and was able to make a very important call.
I appreciate the thoughtful suggestions on here about other ways to contact ee but seriously, who nowadays has a Skype app and account on their phone just in case the mobile network goes down? Don’t most people use FaceTime or WhatsApp over WiFi these days? Why does ee make it so difficult to get in touch?

@NR90024 : You don't need a Skype a/c or any credit to make a Freephone call on it.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

If everyone put in a complaint due to not getting what you pay for I'm sure there would be an answer !

4 days in Ottawa and Toronto with the same problem - no network service for more than an hour at a time. This was in city areas or airports where there was service, but not for me. After paying EE to use my allowances as normal, I found it was money wasted because I had hardly any data. Yes, roaming was enabled.
On the handset when the problem occurred:
Empty triangle with exclamation mark
Calls and SMS EE temporarily unavailable
EE no connection
(Roaming) Network disconnected
Next trip I'll take an alternative SIM

Depending where any fault lies, this is not guaranteed to resolve. It might well do, but it might also just prove a local issue!

The US networks have reported major roaming issues in the last few days affecting their customers roaming. so I wonder if that is also affecting roaming on their networks.

The US networks are reporting major roaming issues yesterday so that may be affecting roaming on their network too.
E.g. https://9to5mac.com/2024/06/27/international-roaming-outage/
If it's still not working, maybe consider a local eSIM for now?

Hi all.
Syniverse, a company who manage international roaming for various mobile carriers, are investigating an intermittent service issue affecting customers of a number of mobile carriers, including EE, when customers visit North America. Syniverse are working to restore full service as soon as possible, and you can read their latest update, here:
In the meantime, we recommend manually searching for AT&T through the network settings of your device.
Chris
