@PaulKT How EE choose to allow things to work over the network is down to them. 3 way calling disappeared ages ago so don’t expect it back anytime soon if at all. And just because a device has a feature it doesn’t mean any network has to support that feature. There 2 totally different things.
Plus it was a service provided free of charge and was not part of any contract that was agreed upon and any network has the right to remove any service provided.
P.S Emails are not part of your contract

@Marydoll164 I think you need to learn what the word “discrimination” actually means.
And the contract you agreed too doesn’t include 3way calling. Even if 3way calling was available it wouldn’t be part of the contract you agreed to. It was a service provided free of charge.
You get every service that your contract allows you to have. Calls/texts/data. that’s your contract allowance right there. And any benefit that tariff might allow you to have if it has benefits. 3way calling isn’t and has never been part of a contract allowance.

I'd argue thats as conference calling is available on BT,O2,Vodafone and Three and has been a feature for at least 37 years, that it is implied under the telephony section of the contract is not unreasonable.
The claim its for security while pushing wifi connections that are completely insecure and those with the best security available can be cracked in minutes show that to be an excuse
The claim apps can replace the feature is false, no major company,no goverment department and EE don't/won't use one
Yes it is up to them just as its up to me to rate their service, vlaue for money and pass that on to other people and if I renenw my contract when it expires

Hi Chris, thanks, but sorry don't agree, hence "it's fundamental" just like texting. Something fundamental is included by default. Moreover, EE, can't just unilaterally change things, that's called breach of contract. EE recognise that themselves as they did offer to revert my contract.
It was never free, the minutes for each call came out of your allowance or cost you per minute for each call.
PS data is part of a contract and emails could easily be blocked as part of that service as they are used for "fraud" (whilst continuing to allow people to visit websites etc). So yes they could decide to cut email access, but that, like this removal, would be preposterous!
PPS I don't see why people feel the need to defend the indefensible and protect EE's feelings, it's not helpful and doesn't encourage EE to change their position.

@PaulKT For EE to stop emails that means totally stopping data. I don’t see EE doing that, do you. ?
Just because something was there doesn’t mean it has to remain. I suppose you think 3G should remain also !!
3Way calling can lead to entrapment and EE don’t have to allow that to happen over their network.
Just like a ISP can block you from watching illegally streamed content over their network. Whilst it’s not illegal to watch this content, it doesn’t mean a service provider has allow you access to watch it..

Thank you, it was especially important during the pandemic and post pandemic as people work from home, isolate, shield etc

Hi Chris,
That's not true, they can block ports and packets that contain emails quite easily. But I don't see them doing it regardless. However, I never saw them pointlessly blocking 3 way calling.
I'm unsure how it can be used for "entrapment"? In any case if the police want to entrap people (not that they would) they have other methods. I really doubt that EE were thinking of curtailing police activity. They claim fraud was the reason they turned it off. Like I say, that's nonsense as texts, emails and calls generally are all used for "fraud" so it's baloney!
I'm afraid an ISP blocking unlawful (it may not be illegal but it's most definitely unlawful) activity is completely different from a telecommunications provider blocking a fundamental service: the former is a good idea and totally legitimate, the latter is pretty disgraceful behaviour and totally without justification.

Why would EE have to stop all data traffic rather than removing access to the major email services,
3g should remain until they improve the penetration of 4 and 5g signals
Calling can lead to entrapment but they use that and actively recommend a replacement that has way more issues
Most illegal content is blocked by cleanfeed, whats left can and often is banned by ISPs (piratebay etc) and you can be prosecuted for watching an illegal stream as you have technically downloaded the item
Ps nothing in the T&C's specifies the number of people you can call at once

Agreed, no sales agent informs you they will block it. No terms and conditions state it. It's totally unjustifiably restricted without warning for no good reason.
Arguably all phones and contracts sold by EE are being miss sold just like PPI and other scandals. It's awful EE need to accept it's a mistake is undoubtedly caused misery, inconvenience and quite possibly lives as family members cannot be on calls to hear doctor's advice first hand of what's needed for elderly parents etc.
Disgraceful unjustified ill-thought out and totally non-notified conduct by EE and despite a few individuals who have some desire to defend a huge company, I don't think many lay /reasonable rational people would think it's right, moral or even remotely fair.
This thread has gone on for years and EE just ignore it! Great "communications" company!

I'm really pleased to tell you all, I have found a long term - in fact permanent solution to this ridiculous problem - I am moving back to Vodafone - I will keep telling people never to sign up with EE - but at least i am out of this. Unfortunately I can't help anyone else but at least I don't have to deal with this rubbish anymore - As I say I am off to Vodafone presumably to be the victim of massive fraud whilst I speak to my wife and daughter about where are going to meet for dinner - I can barely wait for the thrill of the danger !!!!
