@PaulKT  how can I service that was provided free of charge be classed as greed when that service is removed ????      Can not get my head around that one

While a device can support any feature it doesn’t mean any network has too support it also.

Because its included in the fee, now they charge the same fee for a worse service or more money to get a landline that can still do 3 way calling.

Its greed the same way BMW charging you a subscription for heated seats that were already fitted and paid for

@Dungate2014  where in the contract that you agree to did it states you were paying for this as a service.  It was a service provided free of charge and it wasn’t part of the contract or the fee you paid for that contract.  Just like your voicemail.

It’s also cheaper for BMW to have one production line making seats that have everything in them.  If you want it or not that’s up to you.  Yes there is a subscription service which you don’t have to pay monthly you can pay it when you want it ( winter only ) or you can purchase it as a one-time fee.   Do you need heated sets in the summer?

The answer there is....don't buy a BMW 😉

Free of charge???? What planet are you from - zog?  I can assure you that I pay a heavy price for the so-called service I get (sometimes) from EE.  I frequently get more text messages telling me there are problems than I get uninterrupted service

Chris B - I think you are slightly off the point. The phones clearly indicate this service will be available, other providers make this service available free of charge. EE take the stance that "we didn't tell you that this was part of the service" this is not a great argument because:
A) it's actually quite hard to find out exactly what is part of the service provided when you are signing up
B) People rarely read an entire contract and look for loopholes and exclusions - for example my contract doesn't actually say I can dial numbers and the phone will ring at the other end - but I assume this as part of the deal.
C) The phones show that you cand do and competitors supply this service.
To be clear - although EE may be technically correct when you speak to them they immediately offer a paid for service to replace this service. Historically they did offer this service for free and when politely asked they were, in my experience, very vague about what the security issues were or could be.
All in all it's disappointing and quite frustrating when you sign a two year contract and then realise you can't use a service you have used previously with other providers - and didn't realise EE has withdrawn.

@STAUN  it got withdrawn quite a while ago now so it’s nothing new.    The phones clearly indicate the service will be available ?   Just because a device can do it it doesn’t mean the network supports it that’s two totally different things.  That’s like saying I’ve got a device that has an eSIM it doesn’t mean the network you want to use it on supports the eSIM.

So EE, which is, after all, a communications company, could maybe tell customers at point of purchase, what "services" they do and don't support on phones. Or do you suggest we just take lucky dip?

Sorry, meant for the gold star personage

almost nothing is opn the contract its all very very open but 3 way calling is an implied service just as the wheels going round is implied on a car sale it doesnt have to specifically listed.

I'd have paid for it yersterday quite happily but you cant have it unless you buy a landline instead they suggest wifi apps that are less secure than 3 way calling and that you should test every feature and every app on  the play store in every location you will use the phone/airtime in the first 14 days...does that even sound possible?

But now my BMW is heavier than it should be and uses more petrol/handles worse for a feature I choose not to have
