I have the option to merge calls but it’s not working. How do I fix this?

Have you looked at using one of the many apps available for group calling?

Please name any of these apps that are used by government departments without prior arrangment or energy supplier at all.

Basic function from 30 years ago available on all networks but EE and EE make you get a landline to use the feature,,,utter con  especaiialy as they cost e a grand when they a)_promised calls without wifi, b) c ould make wifi work on existing handset both of which were  untrue

You can use group calling on apps like WhatsApp or Messenger.

It doesn’t help as that relies on a stable Internet connection, which is still sadly lacking in several parts of the UK geographically (not by population per head stats)

Also not everybody wants to give Meta their data or install their privacy concerning apps.

Basically it's just a feature of the iPhone that the network does not wish to support.

When I buy a wasjing mchine witha set of programmes I expect to be able to use ALL of them if I choose. EE are mis-sellong this product if they then decide which features can and cannot be used.

EE doesn't advertise they do this service.

They don't make the phones so they can't control what options are on the phone itself.

No but it is a basic functioj of a telcoms network and has been for 30 ish years.

They also dont advertise

Contacts
Syncing
Gaming.
Wifi except from their kit and the underground
multiple sims
data saver

advertising supported services

google play

vpn

the list goes on and on and on

You buy a car you expect to ba able to swap drivers on journey without it being specifically advertised dont you?

Spot on correct, ignore Brandon he seems only to exist to cover up for EE's appalling service. There's no legitimate reason why EE stopped this, it's greed pure and simple. They should be ashamed of themselves for removing a fundamental service. It's like removing texting "because it can be abused and used for fraud" and saying "it's fine, you can use WhatsApp, it's just as good."
