Out and about in Dorset recently, I saw that an EE wi-fi hotspot appeared in my wi-fi connection field -see photo.
I tried to connect to it but had no luck. Am I allowed to connect ? I am an EE customer PAYG customer....paying the princely sum of £1 per week for my mobile account ! 😊
If I'm not allowed, why not ? If I am allowed which option do I choose on the attached photo ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @cadoc
Welcome to the community.
EE and BT Broadband customers get free access to these hotspots. You can find out more information on how to get access here.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like that I would have to pay for wi-fi access as I'm only a mobile EE user and haven't got a EE or BT broadband account. Would this be right ?

@cadoc yes, that is correct, as do legacy EE Broadband customers.

I have had EE-Wifi Hotspot for a long time
NEVER ONCE has it ever worked for myself or my wife.
It either: does nothing, will not recognise our logins or tells us there is a service problem
I cannot even log in to the one on my own EE Router - service prolem????
Absolute waste of time and money

Hi @bobef90
Thanks for coming to the community.
Do you have a new EE Broadband account? EE WiFi is available free for new EE Broadband and BT Broadband customers. If you have a different account, you can buy a voucher for short-term access here. Full help can be found in the Help & advice page.
What happens when you try and access your WiFi Settings on the router? Can you connect devices to the router?
Leanne.

I think it’s very misleading to say ALL EE customers have access when clearly not the truth. Just look at the above advertisement it clearly state ALL. The advert draws you in. I am about to make n official complaint and ask them to change the advert. I have been with EE for over 15yrs on mobile contract and never been able to access free hotspot as advertised implies.
It has driven me barmy over the years and EE should just give it us or change advert.
Ive found EE to be helpful and a listening Co. over the years a I don’t normally complain.
Good luck with sorting it

Good afternoon @Melclooney.
Welcome to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to highlight this.
Whilst we don't have access to accounts via these forums to log a complaint, you can find all the information you need around our complaints code of practice here:
EE Complaints Code of Practice - March 2024
Also I'm going to get this flagged at my end as well, as I completely see where you're coming from with this one.
It is only EE Broadband customers that are included in the Hotspot access at the moment, but if this were to ever change and be extended to mobile users, we'd be sure to let you know.

Thanks Peter.
EE C Services directed me to ASA who I’ve complained to and I’ve written to [name of employee] who is marketing manager for EE, so, you never know but I bet if anything they’ll just change the wording 🤞
Thanks again
