Hi - fairly new to EE. People have noticed that when I text from my phone a completely different phone number is displayed as my number. How is this resolved?

Have you transferred your number from another network?
Does the same happen with calls?

Hi Leanne - yes recently transferred from Plusnet to EE and ported my number. I don't know whether it happens with calls too but definitely texts

Do you use a third party messaging app or the installed text app?
Does the number show correct if you text NUMBER to 150?

Hi - yes - several times - the transfer was about 3 months ago so updates etc.
